Strawberry Skin Benefits:
Strawberry has great cleansing properties. Strawberries contain vitamin C, salicylic acid, antioxidants and exfoliants. Salicylic acid removes dead cells from the skin while tightening the pores. Ellagic acid being an antioxidant combats skin damage to maintain its youth and freshness. Thus, strawberries remove impurities and soften the skin as well as soothe allergies and other irritants and provide protection against pollution.
Vitamin C, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), salicylic acid and flavonoids in strawberries help in clearing acne and reducing oil. Thus, effective for people with dull, damaged or acne-prone skin.
Vitamin C and other antioxidants present in strawberries prevent damage caused by free radicals to the skin and body. Free radicals occur during the process of transformation of food into energy. Free radicals accelerate the ageing process + vitamin C is effective in blocking the damage caused by free radicals.
The vitamin c in strawberries also enables the body to grow + repair its tissues as it is involved in making collagen + heal wounds quickly.
1. Begin with one hand going up the arm to your shoulders, upper back and upper chest. Do the other hand and arm. Always work towards the heart.
2. After you have scrubbed your upper limbs, work from the tops of your feet up to your hips on both sides. Make sure that you include all around the legs including the backs of your knees and legs right up to your hips.
3. Avoid using a scrub on any private areas on the body. The texture is too rough. Be gently in the underarm area or avoid the area if the skin is too tender. Work on your back trunk first. Work up from your hips or where you left off when finishing your legs. Do as much of your upper back as possible working towards your heart even though it is awkward reaching upwards on your back. Do what you can.
Do a similar routine on the front of your trunk. Work up from your hips and lower belly and then work from your shoulders down towards your heart with small circular motions. When you have done all suitable areas that you can reach, you are finished.
4. Let the oil rest on your skin for a few minutes before rinsing it completely away. Pat your body dry. Follow with your Dame Body Butter to keep the skin hydrated
